Boing Boing reports that the Electronic Frontiers Foundation (EFF) is suing the Obama administation for promised access to ACTA documents: http://www.boingboing.net/2009/05/06/eff-sues-obama-admin.html
The "Freedom on the Net" report is interesting reading. In Australia, we are getting upset about the thought of a mandatory internet filter and how it might operate.
This report highlights the actions of countries like Cuba, China and Iran, who's censorship of the internet defies belief.
In Australia, we have thoroughly scrutinized legislation like the Broadcasting Services Act, to ensure that it does not impact upon our rights to freedom of speech/communication.
This legal scrutiny may well be a luxury that only western legal democracies are afforded.
